Language and art. In this class, students learn about the classic and modern heroes of literature and popular
culture through shared stories and discussion. Each unit involves a theme and a project based on the hero or
heroine of the week. We explore the hero’s journey with an open mind towards both girls and boys and
cultures from around the globe: from Mowgli to Harry Potter to Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.
